The humble Abaya is one of the most elegant pieces of modest clothing around.

Wear yours with confidence and you’ll look like a queen. That’s where your Anaya Clothing team comes in. We don’t just offer a gorgeous selection of Abayas for you to choose from. We also want to help you to create your style and look your absolute best in our garments.

So whether you have a wardrobe full of Abayas or you just like to wear them for special occasions, these style tips will help you to create the perfect look.

Tip #1 – Always Consider the Length

It’s a little difficult to choose the right Abaya length as they’re not offered in the traditional S, M, L, etc. sizes. Plus, those who are new to the garment may not know exactly what size they need to wear to make sure the look really pops.

Of course, you don’t want to go too long. If the Abaya starts getting caught under your feet, you’re going to cause damage to the garment. Of course, you don’t want it to run too high either, as this can cause the garment to look a little too small for your frame.

Ideally, the Abaya will sit right around your ankles. You may go a little below that line, but going above the ankle isn’t recommended. Measure your body’s length from shoulder to ankle and you should be able to get the right size.

Tip #2 – Choose the Right Shoes

With dress Abayas becoming increasingly popular, a lot of women wonder what types of shoes to wear with the garment.

This is really done to personal preference. But we recommend flats with a dress-style Abaya, possibly with an open toe. The key here is that dress-style Abayas tend not to have a lot of design flourishes. Complement this with a minimalistic look, both in terms of shoes and accessories, and you’re off to a good start.

However, if you’re going for the more glamourous look, it’s best to go with heels to create the full ensemble.

As a general rule of thumb, go with heels with an Abaya that has a lot of colour or intricate pattern work. But tone done with flats to complement more formal or muted colours.

Tip #3 – The General Fit

The key here is to get the Abaya to flow, rather than stick. While you may like the idea of a slim fitting Abaya, it’s often best to go for a regular fit garment that you can tie at the waist to help the Abaya match the contours of your body. This will ensure you maintain your modesty while also achieving the fit that you’re looking for.

It may be a good idea to get measured up before you make your purchase. This will ensure you don’t end up choosing a garment that fits tightly and starts to feel uncomfortable.

Hopefully, these tips will help you to choose the Abaya that’s right for you. And as always, your friendly team at Anaya Clothing is always happy to help. Why not dip into our catalogue to find the perfect Abaya for your wardrobe.
