Current Modest Fashion Trends

In this blog, Anaya take a look at some of the hottest modest summer trends right now.

Look 1: Elegance at iftaar

Floral Prints and stripes with simple white accessories

Floral prints are everywhere this summer, as are stripes. Jump on the bandwagon with this trend and wear a beautiful floral longline gown, like our Nyla Kimono, but remember to keep your accessories quite muted. We advise pairing the floral frock, or a striped outfit, with simple plain white sandals and a crisp white scarf to make sure that the dress is the main focus of your outfit. Try not to clash too many prints, as your outfit may end up looking a bit garish.

Bow-tied slippers and statement footwear

We love the whole bow-tied flat slipper trend that has made its way onto the high-street! They’re so versatile - simply pair them with a casual shirt dress, like our Sahar shirt dress, for a laid-back daytime look, or wear them with our Saira Shirt Abaya for a dressed up chic look. This is definitely a trend we love this summer.

Ruffled sleeves and details

Ruffles are so on trend this summer! Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for a modest fit shift dress with either ruffled sleeves, or a ruffled border - or both! We have even seen ruffles featuring long pant legs and towards the bottom of trousers, which are fabulous too! Make sure if you cash in on this trend, that you pick ruffles on your top, or ruffles on your bottom and then tone down the other half of your outfit with sleek straight lines, i.e. tapered trousers, a long flowy skirt, or a boxy top. We think these trend ties in beautifully with the whole bow-tied slipper trend!

Pom-poms, tassel and ribbed scarves

Pom-poms and tassels scream summer and add a touch of fun to your everyday hijab. We also love the ribbed scarf look and are noticing this appear more in high-street shops - which is a huge bonus!

Sneakers and summer denim

Sneakers or trainers are still in the summer and are the perfect addition to a lovely oversized denim jacket. Whether you liked distressed denim, stone-washed denim, or dark denim, simply add a pair of mirror-effect shades and you’ll be dressed for the beach in no time!
